The 6th year of the traditional national reading week for children, this time entitled The 6th Week of Reading to Kids with Déčko, was launched on 30 May 2016 in Ostrava. The inauguration ceremony was held in the Dolní Vítkovice area in the Science Theatre at the Science and Technology Centre. The programme included a performance by Albert Černý from the Lake Malawi band and a staged reading by the LiStoVáNí ensemble. The actor, Lukáš Hejlík, was the presenter of the event.
Every child received a beautiful book from the publisher, Czech TV Edition, and presents from Celé Česko čte dětem (Every Czech Reads to Kids) and Czech Television.
