Reading Aloud to Kids Changes Lives
The conference was held on 13 and 14 April 2012 in Ostrava under the auspices of the President of the Moravian-Silesian Region. The introductory speech was made by Eva Katrušáková, the director of Celé Česko čte dětem® (Every Czech Reads to Kids), Irena Koźmińska, the director of ABCXXI All of Poland Reads to Kids, Elżbieta Olszewska, the programme director of the same Polish foundation and Václav Mertin, the psychologist of the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague.
In the framework of the 2nd International Conference, the first year of the award ceremony took place, appreciating regional coordinators, i.e. the voluntary promoters of reading aloud to children from all over the Czech Republic.
