On 4 April 2018, and in the presence of the Polish Minister of Culture, Irena Koźmińska, the director of the All of Poland Reads to Kids foundation, handed over this award to Eva Katrušáková, the initiator of the campaign in the Czech Republic.
The festive evening was attended by Jim Trelease from the USA, the main propagator of the idea of the importance of reading and the author of many bestsellers on reading aloud to children. His speech began with the words: ‘It all started when I was sitting as a little kid on my father’s lap...’
